Hi! I’m Thomas, the owner/operator of Highlands Painting.

I’ve been living in Squamish for over 10 years, and painting for over 15 years in industrial, commercial, and residential settings. Beyond my desire to help create better spaces and places, I’ve learned how much the little things matter, and I started Highlands Painting to bring that all together.

During my study of Communication Design at Emily Carr University, I grew my love for illustration, colour, and details that develop character, which translates to my painting work. I enjoy the creative and detailed process of painting, as well as the technical aspects, to bring out personality and playfulness. 

Outside of painting, I’m usually in the mountains, in my sketch book, or behind a camera. I’ve been part of the Squamish climbing community for 20 plus years, and also love skiing and mountain biking. Illustrating and photography are also a large part of my world - I create frequently! Living in the Sea to Sky, along with the wonderful community I am a part of has had a big influence on how I see and experience spaces. I am endlessly inspired by the land and the people, and love having those characteristics and care reflected in my work.
